Adidas announced Wednesday that it will partner with Sears to open a new shoe store in Chicago’s historic Loop neighborhood.
The Chicago-based company said that its new store will open by the end of the year.
Adidas is expected to make the deal public later this month.
Sears has had a long-running relationship with Chicago and other large cities, with the company providing a variety of products and services to the city, including in the 1990s, when it made a $3.5 million investment in the area.
The company also has a significant presence in the Chicago area.
Last year, Sears announced plans to create a new department store in the Loop neighborhood of downtown Chicago.
